Service dogs can definitely enter the hospital. There are even some dogs that are trained to provide company to long-term patients. Does that mean you can bring your dog to the hospital to visit someone too?
Different hospitals have different policies. Some may allow you to bring your dog while others may not. Some may allow you to bring your dog to certain areas of the hospital and not others. It’s always a good idea to ask before you show up with your canine companion.
If they say no, ask if the patient is allowed to leave the room. If they are, you may be able to meet them outside or in a common area with your pooch, even if he isn’t allowed in the main area of the hospital.
