Obedience training is generally teaching your dog to perform certain actions usually by command. Select the commands you will want your dog to obey such as sit, stay, come, down or roll over. You should only work on one command at a time and don’t move on until your dog reliably obeys that one. Choose an easy one to start such as SIT and work towards increasingly more challenging commands. Use a food treat to lure your dog into performing the action while your say the command word. Give your dog the treat and lots of praise when he approximates the desired action. As your dog becomes more reliable, delay giving him the treat so he becomes more accurate with the behavior. Gradually reduce and then eliminate the treat so your dog performs the action by your command and praise alone. Learn more from your veterinary clinic Savannah, GA.
