If you’re showing your Southern African hedgehog in an IHA (International Hedgehog Association) sanctioned, you may want to talk with other hedgehog owners who have experience showing as they may be able to assist you. One of the key parts of the show will be to make sure your Southern African hedgehog is ready to be on display for the judges and attendees. Part of that display includes the cage. Make sure the cage you take is small, has a secure door, has a secure top, and has been freshly lined with bedding. Show sponsors have a right to deny access to competitors if the cage is too large or if it’s dirty. Bring plenty of food and water for your hedgehog since he may need to be caged in between shows and while traveling. If you need additional help with your hedgehog, contact your veterinary clinic Thorold, ON.
