Your pet bird needs exercise to stay happy and healthy. Since your bird spends most of its life in the cage you need to make it a pleasant place to live. Perches at a variety of levels encourage your bird to hop around. Ladders, swings, bells and mirrors will entice your bird to move around. However, don’t put so many things in the cage that becomes difficult to move around. Even with a fun cage your bird will need time outside the cage for exercise. Flying is the best exercise for a bird. Secure windows and doors so your bird doesn’t escape to the outside. Shut off any fans and make sure there isn’t anything that could fall on your bird. Remove any toxic plants that your bird could nibble on. Supervise your bird at all times while he is outside the cage. For more information, contact your vet services Northwest Denver area, CO.
