Easing Your Cat’s Anxiety in the Vet’s Waiting Room

A trip to the vet isn’t any fun, but it can be especially stressful for a feline. If it’s time for your cat’s annual appointment, here are a few ways you can reduce your pet’s anxiety in the waiting room.

First, let your cat get used to the carrier before the appointment. Leave it out in the living room open for a full week. That way, it isn’t a scary new trap when you have to stuff your cat inside.

Line the carrier with a blanket or towel that smells like home. The familiar scent will help ease your cat’s nerves as he deals with strange dogs in the waiting room.

Although you may be tempted to take your cat out of his carrier to comfort him, it’s actually better for you to leave him inside.
